India’s van culture was started by the very famous Maruti Omni. For some, it was their ride to school, some individuals used them as a goods transporter and some were used as ambulances. This car has been popular in our country for carrying out various roles. However, procuring the design of the 80s and lack of safety standards made this car waive goodbye to the market. Then came the Versa with some luxury features which however was eventually discontinued. Now, talking about the present day, we have the Eeco which is soon set to get updated. Design
The Maruti Eeco is expected to come with new design upgrades. New set of bumpers, reworked headlamps & tail lamps, standard wheel covers and fog lamps are some of the expected elements. Other than this, the Eeco would continue to persist with a van-like body with spacious interiors.
New Maruti Eeco – Features & Specifications
Maruti could add some basic creature features in the new car that the current car misses out on. Basic requirements like power steering & power windows could be added. Apart from this, we could see features like remote keyless entry, a new instrument cluster, 2-din stereo, etc. in the new car. The dashboard could also be updated. Under the hood, the car is expected to get a new engine for increased fuel-efficiency & performance. The car would continue with a CNG bi-fuel option.
New Maruti Eeco – Launch & pricing
The new Eeco is touted to be launched by the end of this year. Moreover, Maruti will mostly continue to sell the Eeco in different iterations such as the Eeco Cargo, Eeco 5-seater AC CNG, Eeco Ambulance, Eeco 7-seater, etc. Talking about the pricing, the car is expected to get a price increase following the new features. The new Eeco is thus expected to start from somewhere around Rs 6 lakh (on-road).
