MG globally unveiled the Air EV at the Indonesian Auto Expo this year. Crafted for intercity runs, India will witness the concept of small EV cars with the launch of Air EV. New MG electric car – Design

MG has managed to style it with minuscule details largely being a small car itself. With its small dimensions of just 2900mm (length) and wheel size measuring just 12 inches, it could be the smallest EV on sale in our market. To give you a dimension perspective, we are talking about an EV that is smaller than Maruti Alto.

New MG electric car – Features & Specifications

As MG would bring this car into a very risky playground altogether, it surely does need to have some promising features to attract our value-conscious buyer base. Just like their other cars, the Air EV would have almost all essentials features that come in handy on a regular basis. This is the part where the India-spec version could see a change. The Indonesian version has a horizontally laid out screen housing the instrument cluster and infotainment system. Could India get the same setup? It is highly likely because the car looks futuristic in terms of design and maintaining a no-nonsense look with techy interiors would be just on point. However, there are chances that MG might slightly tone down the screen size to cut some costs.

Moving on to the powertrain, MG India is planning to source the cost-effective LFP cylindrical cells from Tata AutoComp. This LFP cell technology has proven its quality on Indian road conditions by being present in the highest-selling EV in the country – Tata Nexon EV. This LFP battery pack could boast 20 kWh or 25 kWh capacity that would promise a range of about 200kms. Depending upon the conditions, one could get around 150kms of real-world range.
