Ola Electric has seriously heated up the competition in the country. The biggest factor behind this was the Ola S1 Pro. This electric scooter offers a great range and performance at affordable pricing. However, Ola and more importantly Bhavish Aggarwal have more ambitious plans; launch the Ola electric car in the future. During the 15th August event, Ola shared some glimpses of the car and has made big claims regarding the car as well. If the claims materialise, it could become the best electric car in India. Big claims

Bhavish Aggarwal has made big claims regarding its design, performance and range. Let’s first talk about performance. Ola claims that it will be the quickest EV in India. It will be able to hit 100kmph in under four seconds and have a drag coefficient of just 0.21. What about the range? Ola claims a range of more than 500km on a single charge. Now let’s talk about the design, it is expected to be the sportiest car built in India with an all-glass roof and handless doors. Other than this, it will get the brand’s Move OS software enabling over-the-air update capability.

Ola’s upcoming electric car could be designed by Krux studio, led by Ramkrishna Ananthan. According to reports, Ola has signed a contract with Krux studio. What’s so special about this development? For context, Ramkrishna Ananthan is the former design head of Mahindra & Mahindra. After leaving Mahindra, she established Krux Studios. She has worked on projects like the XUV700 which is definitely an encouraging development.

Ola’s electric plan

Ola plans to expand more into the EV segment with its future products. It plans to expand its factory to produce electric scooters, cars & battery cells. 200 acres have been set for 4-wheel manufacturing, 40 acres for two-wheel manufacturing & 100 acres for cell plant. According to Ola, at full capacity, the factory can produce 1 million cars, 10 million scooters and 100GWh cells.
