Maruti has already confirmed that it will be launching the new Alto on the 18th of August. According to reports, this will be the new Alto K10 and Maruti will continue to sell the Alto 800 along with it. The Alto 800 will cater to people looking for an affordable car, while the K10 will cater to people looking for more power and space. What about the pricing? It is a bit tricky to guess due to the overlapping between both cars. Currently, the Alto 800 starts from Rs 4.03 lakh and goes to Rs 5.72 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). We think the Alto K10 could start from Rs 5.50 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
New Maruti Alto launch – Dimensions & Design
The new Alto will get a dimension boost. According to leaked documents, the K10 will be 3,530mm in length, 1,490mm in width & 1,520mm in height. These dimensions will make it 85mm longer & 45mm taller than the Alto 800. What about the design? The design will also get a new look. It will get squarish tail lamps with a new tailgate. The side profile will get a clean look. What about the front? The front will get pearl-shaped headlamps and grille similar to the A-star.
Specifications
The new Alto K10, as the name suggests, will come with a 1.0-litre petrol engine. This could be the same engine that Maruti uses on the S-Presso. What about its power figures? This engine is capable of producing 67bhp & 90Nm of torque. Maruti is even offering an AMT gearbox on the Alto K10. This is expected to make it the most affordable automatic car in India. The older K10 was known to be a fun-to-drive car, and it could continue in the newer version.

Features have become a vital part even in entry-level cars these days. Maruti has sensed this and has loaded the new Alto K10 with features. The new Alto is confirmed to get a 7.0-inch infotainment system, manual air conditioning, electrically adjustable ORVMs, Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, a semi-digital instrument cluster and all-black interiors.
