Every manufacturer is giving major importance to its SUV lineup. As India has turned into an SUV-loving country, many brands are witnessing growth in this segment. The introduction of mid-sized SUVs has created a blend of affordable pricing and SUV perks in one package and Hyundai Creta is a great example of it. Hyundai’s highest-selling car stands strong and is quite popular in the segment. Although Creta has a good number of competitors, there’s one more car ready to join the battle. So, let us tell you more about the new Creta competitor from Japan.

Nissan Kicks Facelift

new Creta competitor

Kicks is Nissan’s challenger in the C-SUV segment and we can say that it is not doing well so far. The car lacks features that its competitors are offering and overall it has failed to appeal to the buyers since its launch. The only redeemable point was its diesel engine which is currently discontinued. With sales down and to counter this situation, Nissan is expected to launch the facelift version of the Kicks that is selling in the global markets.

Design – New Creta competitor

Nissan has given the Kicks facelift a very modern sharp-looking design. Elements like sharp headlamps and a bigger grille are mounting the stylish look on the front. To further enhance the appearance, the new car also sits on a new design of alloy wheels and we can also see some changes in the fog lamps. Moving to the rear of the car, it is fairly identical to the outgoing model with some minor changes on the bumper and lighting pattern.

Features and Specifications

The current Kicks seem outdated in terms of features but the facelift would change the scenario. The facelifted model is expected to get all modern-day gizmos like connected car tech with more features, wireless charging, a new infotainment screen, a 360-degree camera, and more. Engine-wise, it is highly unlikely to see any changes. Nissan would offer the Kicks with two petrol engine options. Other than these, it could offer a hybrid setup to attract more buyers.

New Creta competitorLaunch & Pricing

Nissan could be pricing the new facelift depending on whether the hybrid setup is brought to India or not. There is no official confirmation from the brand but we are expecting that Nissan would launch this to gain back some momentum in the C-SUV segment. Staying updated in this lucrative segment is a necessity now but would Nissan bring the Kicks facelift to India? Only time could tell.
