Maruti already has its dominance in the CNG market. However, the brand wishes to grow this further. For this, Maruti is said to be bringing the Swift CNG. New Maruti Swift CNG – EXCLUSIVE details
According to our dealer sources, Maruti has started accepting unofficial bookings for the Swift CNG. The booking amount is expected to be set at Rs 11,000. With that being said, this booking amount may vary from dealer to dealer.
Coming to the Swift itself, this hatchback has always been known for its driving dynamics and sporty design. The Swift would continue getting the same engine paired to a five-speed manual gearbox for the CNG variants.
Design and Specifications
Going against the Grand i10 Nios, the new Swift CNG would not be deprived of any design or interior changes except for the CNG switch being placed beside the headlight leveler. Apart from this, the CNG telematics could be displayed in the MID. With the CNG tank, performance could see a slight degradation in CNG mode. In CNG mode, Swift could deliver around 70bhp of power & 95Nm of torque and return a mileage of somewhere between 30-35 km/kg. Swift would continue to get all the features available in the CNG variants as well.
Maruti Swift CNG – Launch and Pricing
Just as Maruti did with the Dzire, the Swift CNG could be launched in the VXI & ZXI variants only. With the addition of CNG technology, Maruti could price it at a premium of around Rs 80,000 to Rs 90,000 over the regular petrol variants. With dealers now taking bookings, we are expecting the launch to happen in the upcoming weeks.
