The 5-door Jimny could mean to be a VFM option in the rugged SUV segment. Although rugged, it could still have most modern-day features. Also, with an anticipated 4×4 option, it could sit right on the spot.
5 upcoming new cars -Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder
The latest arrival in the SUV segment, Toyota’s promising high on the HyRyder. The new entrant is a greener car than its rivals as it is offering a full hybrid system. Toyota’s new 1.5-litre Atkinson cycle engine works in coordination with a battery pack placed at the boot of the car to complete the hybrid drive experience. In addition, you also get Maruti sourced 1.5-litre K15C engine with an AWD option. The availability of some trending features like a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, wireless phone charging, etc. is expected to attract many tech-savvy buyers.
Tata Curvv
The EV segment leader – Tata, unveiled a concept known as the Curvv this year. It is highly like that the production version of this concept could showcase a new design language from Tata. Curvv, which will be launched as an EV first, will get ICE option in the future. However, this is not what is interesting. The interesting thing would be the fact that the Curvv could be the first coupe SUV in the segment. With this new body style, Tata could attract a lot of buyers who prioritise design.
5 upcoming new cars – Citroen C3 EV
Citroen is planning to bring an affordable EV for India. The speculations of it being the C3 EV are high. The EV counterpart could be the same in terms of body and overall styling, however, we do expect some paint scheme and cosmetic changes in the exterior and interior bits. Based on the CMP platform, the C3 EV could be an affordable EV targeting the Nexon EV which is the current top-selling electric car in the country. Citroen is touted to bring the C3 with a 30kWh battery pack with an approximate range of around 200 to 250kms. The Citroen C3 EV is expected to be unveiled later this year.
MG E230
MG is willing to take a chance with the E-230 in India. The E-230 could be the best city commuter for all those who are looking for a small electric vehicle to drive in the city. With its wee dimensions, the E-230 would be a 2-door car for seating 4 adults. Currently, the MG ZS EV offers quite a package but is still priced on the higher side. Now, focusing on the mass market, MG could launch this car around Rs 10 lakh bracket to attract buyers. Based on the GSEV platform from SAIC-GM-Wuling, the new MG EV could be the smallest EV for sale in India once it launches. It is said to be unveiled at Auto Expo 2023.
