2023 Tata Nexon facelift – what changes now?

Tata is riding high in the SUV segment. In the last six to seven months, Nexon has been continuously topping the SUV sales charts. Tata has been proactively updating the Nexon with new variants and features. However, the biggest update that SUV received was back in January of 2020. With two-and-a-half-years passed, people have now started expecting another major update for the Nexon, mainly a generation upgrade. However, Tata might have other ideas regarding the Nexon. Tata might give this top-selling SUV another facelift rather than bringing a new generation. Why do we think so and what all changes to expect? In today’s article, let’s talk everything about the 2023 Tata Nexon facelift.

Our expectations

The Tata Nexon is based on the X1 platform. It is an old-yet-reliable platform for the Indian carmaker. Tata is also modifying this platform for the Curvv-based products, but it is a different project altogether. This means that the brand has no plans to let-go off this platform. So, there are high chances that Tata will use the same platform for the new Nexon. Now, since it will be based on the same platform, it will be more of a facelift than a new generation.

What else to expect?

Nevertheless, Tata is expected to give the facelift several changes over the existing model. It could get the usual subtle design changes like new bumpers, new headlamps & taillamps and a new grille. Tata could also add LED headlamps. What about the interiors? Interiors could get a new dashboard layout & new colour schemes. Tata could also give it a bigger infotainment system. What else can Tata add? Tata could give it a 360-degree camera, wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, and more charging ports in the second row.

2023 Tata Nexon facelift – Launch timeline

The Nexon is still selling like hot cakes, so it doesn’t make sense for Tata to launch the new Nexon this year. So, when can we expect the launch? Tata has a tendency to bring new products around January, atleast that is what we saw with the Altroz and the Nexon facelift as well as the Nexon EV. Tata could thus launch the Nexon facelift sometime in 2023. What about the pricing? Pricing-wise, we expect a price hike of Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000 depending upon the variants.
