Maruti Grand Vitara coming – you should be excited!
The last few months were really busy for Maruti. But the brand is in no mood to stop and is gearing up for the launch of an all-new product; its new mid-size SUV developed in collaboration with Toyota. Last month, Toyota unveiled its iteration of the mid-size SUV called the Urban Cruiser HyRyder. Tomorrow, Maruti will be unveiling its mid-size SUV called the Grand Vitara and the launch is expected to happen sometime in August. So, why should you be excited for the Maruti Grand Vitara? Design
Maruti has been generating hype for the Grand Vitara with new teasers. The brand has revealed some aspects of the design. The overall silhouette of the Grand Vitara is similar to the Urban Cruiser HyRyder. So how will the Grand Vitara be different from the Urban Cruiser HyRyder? It will get a different front and rear design. At the front, it will get a big grille divided by chrome elements housing the Maruti badge. It seems to be getting a three-piece headlamp design similar to the Baleno. At the rear, we will get to see three set tail lamp design with a connecting strip in the middle.
Maruti Grand Vitara 2022 – Interior and features
Like the exterior, Maruti has given us some glimpses into the interiors. The teaser shows us that the Grand Vitara will get a panoramic sunroof and digital instrument cluster. It also shows the availability of Maruti’s AllGrip technology. What else could it get? The Grand Vitara will most likely get all the features as the Urban Cruiser HyRyder. So, it could get ventilated seats, a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and much more. For safety, it would get six airbags, ABS with EBD, hill descent and hold and vehicle stability control.
Specifications
The Grand Vitara will most likely share its engine options with the Urban Cruiser HyRyder. So what can we expect? It will most likely get the 1.5-litre petrol engine with two hybrid options. One will be a strong hybrid setup with a TNGA Atkinson Cycle paired to the engine. The second will be a mild hybrid setup with ISG (integrated starter generator) paired to the same engine. Also, Maruti has already confirmed that the Grand Vitara will get Suzuki’s AllGrip technology, which is the AWD setup.
Maruti Grand Vitara 2022 – Pricing
The Grand Vitara is expected to be more affordable than the Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder. The reasoning behind this is that Maruti will be looking to maintain its value for money quotient to attract its primary user base. So what price can we expect? We expect the price to start from somewhere between the Rs 12 lakh to 13 lakh mark (on-road). The top variants could go upto Rs 22 lakh to Rs 23 lakh (on-road).
