Honda Cars India Ltd recently announced its entire line up for the upcoming Auto Expo. This includes a range of both production and concept cars at this year’s Auto Expo and two major highlights of the line-up will be the McLaren Honda MP4-30 and the Honda BR-V compact SUV, which is set to make its national premier in India.

Honda BR-V

As mentioned earlier major highlights of the display will be the all-new Honda BR-V compact SUV or as Honda likes to call it Crossover Utility Vehicle (CUV). While the car has already been displayed at various Asian motor shows, it is quite important for the Delhi Auto Expo, considering the fact that it will be launching in India this year.

In terms of looks, the BR-V is based on Honda’s latest design language and comes with sporty same angular headlamps with projector units and LED position lights, aggressive front bumper housing, the round fog lamps with chrome bezels and the most prominent U-shaped chrome slat with the Honda badge on the front grille. The Honda BR-V will come sporting a 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel and will be a direct rival to the Hyundai Creta and the New Renault Duster.

New Generation Honda Accord

Apart from BR-V, Honda Cars India will also showcase the new generation Honda Accord which is set to make its comeback in India that too with a hybrid engine. The car is powered by a 2-litre, 16-valve i-VTEC petrol engine that’s mated to the electric motor which derives power from the on-board lithium-ion battery. The petrol unit churns out 141bhp, but the system’s combined output is a 196bhp with a generous 306Nm of torque. The transmission is an electronic CVT, which is designed to handle all that torque.

Amaze Facelift

There is also some unconfirmed reports that the facelifted Amaze will also be showcased. The facelift will carry over the same set of powertrains from the current model. The four-cylinder 1198cc i-VTEC petrol develops 86.7bhp and 109Nm of torque available with five speed manual and automatic transmission options. The four-cylinder 1498cc i-DTEC diesel engine develops 99bhp and 200Nm of torque mated to five-speed manual transmission.

The sedan is also expected with minor updates exterior and interior wise. The front grille is expected get a restyle in line with the City sedan. Many chrome touches can be expected on the exterior. A restyled dashboard, which is more up market, will be added in the facelift. The new model will get improved quality materials and better fit and finish.
