The Creta has a very special role to play in Hyundai becoming the second largest carmaker in the country. Creta’s launch in 2015 created quite a stir in the market, thanks to its good looks and SUV stance, backed by Hyundai’s reliability. Hyundai banked on the success of the first-generation Creta till 2020 before giving it a generation update. Although many were skeptical about the design when the second-generation arrived, but this design grew on buyers overtime. How do we know this? Take a look at the sales figures and you will realise that buyers have embraced this design. The second-generation Creta has only pushed the success of this nameplate forward. Hyundai knows this and has already brought in some updates to this SUV over the course of two years. However, there is one very special update that this car is expected to receive in the coming time that you should be holding your money for. We are talking about the Creta N Line update for India. What will this update bring with it? Everything in this article.

What is this update?

Creta N Line India

After months of testing and speculations, Hyundai finally took the wraps off this SUV in Brazil. Interestingly, the N Line updates have been given to the one available in India and not the facelifted one. The facelift model has already been made available in Indonesia while we wait for it. This scenario hints that the current India-spec Creta could receive this update, which could be sometime soon. Now with this update, the Creta is bound to look even more aggressive as you can clearly see in the images. What all will it offer? Read on to know.

Creta N Line India specific changes

In terms of changes, the Creta N Line will come with new, aggressive meshed grille with N Line badging and new alloy wheels. Looking at the Brazil-spec SUV, we expect it to come with new bumpers and slightly reworked tail lamps. We would get to see N Line specific interior highlights on the steering wheel, gear lever and seating. We could also see red ambient lighting inside the cabin to highlight the sporty characteristics.

Since this will just be an ‘N Line’ update and not the performance-focused ‘N’ update (which we anyways don’t get in the country), no major mechanical changes are expected. The Creta N Line will mostly come powered by the same 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine that makes 138bhp & 242Nm of torque, similar to the regular variants. Interestingly, the Brazil-spec Creta N Line comes powered by a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine. Could Hyundai push the 2.0-litre unit on India-spec Creta N Line? Highly unlikely. However, two things that can be expected are suspension re-tuning (for sportier driving dynamics) and better-sounding exhaust note. One more thing to ponder about is the availability of diesel N Line variants. Do you think Hyundai would do it or would they decide to skip it because of the availability of diesel Knight variants?
