Kia is riding high on its sales figures. Its SUV lineup of the Seltos and Sonet has been doing the majority of heavy lifting for the Korean brand. Kia also is quite proactive in updating its cars. Last year, it launched the Seltos X Line, which was quite a unique touch to the C-segment SUV. So will the Sonet also get the X Line variant? We certainly think so. In today’s article, we will talk about this new Kia Sonet variant.

Why the X Line?

As mentioned above, Kia launched the Seltos X Line last year. The Seltos X Line has received a good response from the customers. So considering the popularity of the Sonet, it should also get an X Line variant. The X Line will be the new top variant which will be sitting above the GT Line variants. Will it be a limited-run model like the Anniversary Edition? It is rather expected to be a continuous variant in the Sonet lineup. But why does Sonet need it? Recently, two of its main rivals, the Hyundai Venue and the Maruti Brezza got updated. To take on rivals, Kia does need to bring in a fresh element to the Sonet and the X Line could perfectly achieve that.

The prominent change will be the new exterior colour scheme. The X Line could get the Graphite Black colour scheme in a matte finish. What else could Kia change? Kia could give a new grille with some subtle changes. Kia might also add the contrasting orange bits on the bumpers and fog lamps. Sonet might also get 17-inch alloy wheels with the X Line.

Interior changes & features

The Sonet GT Line already gets black interiors. This is expected to be carried forward to the X Line as well. So what will Kia do? Kia could give the Sonet X Line Indigo Pera leatherette seats, similar to the Seltos X Line. The rest of the features are expected to be similar to the top variants of the Sonet.
