Audi to showcase R8, A8 L Security and Prologue concept at the Auto Expo

Audi India lost their top sellers position in 2015 and now they will try to rectify this with a host of new launches for 2016.Their new product range is to include the new R8, A8 L Security. Along with them, the Prologue concept car is will be on display at the 2016 Auto Expo.

The second-generation R8 made its international debut at the Geneva motor show in 2015 but will go on show to the Indian market for the first time in Delhi.

The V10-powered supercar is faster and more powerful than the first-generation model, and gets an updated all-wheel drive quattro drivetrain. The all-aluminium two-seat sports car borrows styling from its predecessor, but gets a new single-frame grille and LED headlamps. The new model is also significantly lighter than the model it replaces, and is claimed to share around 50% of its parts with the racing spec R8 LMS.

Audi will also introduce its armoured version of its luxury sedan, the A8 L. This car will compete with Mercedes Benz Guard version of the S Class and is designed to withstand explosive charge and is VR9 protection certified. Audi claims the entire chassis and quattro all-wheel drive system has been specifically designed to meet the high security requirements.

The Prologue concept completes the highlights of Audi’s Auto Expo 2016 stand, showcasing Audi’s new generation of styling, interior treatment and technology. The concept is said to contain features that will be used by the new A6, A7 and A8, while closely resembling the future super-luxury Audi A9.
