With its arch rival Yamaha R25 uses a twin-cylinder mill and that the upcoming Honda CBR250RR is expected to debut a high performance twin-pot unit, the Kawasaki Ninja 250R is expected to get a more powerful version of the same two cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC FI engine that currently produces 32 PS at 11,000 rpm and 21.0 Nm at 10,000 rpm. The new motor would continue with a six-speed gearbox.

The new Ninja 250R will compete with the likes of the upcoming, Honda CBR250RR, Yamaha R25 and the KTM RC250.

Compared to the existing Ninja 250R, the spied model appears to be featuring LED head lamps, a revised front visor, sharp contours on mirror caps, a larger fuel tank and a restyled front fairing. Further info on the new model is awaited in the coming months.
