Bajaj is one of the well-established Indian bike manufacturers. Pulsar is a sporty series of bikes, which definitely helped in enhancing the brand’s fame. We have seen in recent times that the market is showing inclination towards the adventure segment of motorcycles. Bajaj currently lacks behind in this race as they don’t have any product for this segment. Looking at this, the company might come up with an adventure motorcycle soon. What does Bajaj have?
Bajaj has a great lineup of engines. Starting from 125cc to 373cc, they use a variety of engines on their bikes. The smaller capacity engines are developed by them while higher capacity liquid-cooled engines are borrowed. Due to the tie-up between Bajaj and KTM, Bajaj has access to all the KTM single-cylinder engines. The 373cc liquid-cooled engine is used in KTM Duke 390, KTM Adventure 390 and Bajaj Dominar 400, but with different tunings while the 250cc engine is used in Duke 250, 250 Adventure, and Husqvarna 250 twins. Bajaj could use either of these engines for its adventure bike. Using one of these engines would help in keeping the costs in check.

As we have already seen, Bajaj nails it with their aggressive prices. We have already seen their Dominar 400. Now, if they launch their new adventure bikes, they are expected to give it an aggressive pricing as well. An aggressive pricing would definitely help Bajaj take on established players like Royal Enfield and KTM.

Bajaj does need to seek this opportunity and launch an adventure motorcycle to give tough competition in the market. More and more buyers are looking at an adventure bike since they are capable on-roads and well as off-roads. They are best-suited for people who like weekend adventures and wish to use the bike for city commutes as well. We have recently seen many new products entering the market and Bajaj should take an aggressive approach for this segment as well.
