Mahindra is known for its rugged SUV lineup. SUVs like the XUV700 and Thar have set the sales chart on fire. The Mahindra Scorpio-N is expected to replicate the same success. Mahindra is bringing two important updates for the XUV300. In today’s article, we will discuss these updates and why you should be excited for them.
The XUV300 is already one of the most powerful SUVs in the compact-SUV segment. But now Mahindra wants to take it one step further and is planning to bring an even more powerful variant for it. This variant will mostly be called ‘Sportz’. What is this new engine? Mahindra will be bringing its 1.2-litre mStallion engine to the XUV300. This new engine is capable of producing 128bhp & 230Nm of torque. These mStallion engines are developed in-house by Mahindra to incorporate direct injection and overboost function. Will the Sportz variant get new features? Mahindra might give it new features to attract more customers. The XUV300 is already a really fun to drive car; with this, it is expected to put wider smiles on the drivers’ faces.
Mahindra XUV300 updates – XUV400
Mahindra’s next big target is the EV segment. It is already working on ground-up EVs based on the Born Electric platform. Born Electric SUVs are set to be unveiled in July. Mahindra also will soon be bringing electric version of the XUV300. So why have we written XUV400 and not eXUV300? This is because the electric variant will have major changes warranting an upgraded name. For starters, it will be longer than the ICE variant. This added length will give it the much-needed boot space. What will be its range? Mahindra is expected to using high-density NMC cells, that would give it good range and performance. The XUV400 will be launched in Q3/Q4 of FY22-23.
