Kia Carens to get a new variant soon!
Kia Carens is the newcomer in its segment. It went on sale in February 2022 and from then, Kia sells an average of 5,500 Carens MPV each month. Now, Kia has plans for launching some new variants of Kia Carens very soon. With this new variants, it would be more pocket-friendly for daily rides. Looks and dimension
Kia Carens is a new product for the brand that was launched in February 2022. So, there might not be any update in terms of looks. The only change inside would be it might get very less boot space as the CNG kit would be placed inside the boot. Talking about the dimensions, this car would measure 4,540mm in length, 1,800mm in width, 1,708mm in height, 2,780mm in wheelbase, and have a ground clearance of about 195mm.
Engine
Kia Carens is available in a variety of engine options. But the CNG kit would be applied to the petrol engines. So, we can expect the CNG kit with its 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine, mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. Last month, a Carens CNG was spotted with the 1.4-litre turbo engine. Although it would be very quick to comment on the automatic transmissions.
Kia Carens CNG – Mileage
We expect that the Kia Carens CNG might give a mileage of nearly 20km/kg. The 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine gives 15.7kmppl while the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine gives a claimed mileage of 16.2 kmpl. So with the CNG kit, the Carens would be more pocket friendly and easy to maintain, just like the Ertiga.
Kia Carens CNG – Prices and expected launch
The Kia Carens would get new CNG variants. It would be priced Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh costlier than its regular petrol variant. Currently, in the market, the cost of the Carens petrol starts at Rs 11.14 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai), and the petrol top variant goes up to Rs 20.54 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai). We expect Kia to launch the Carens CNG by the end of 2022 or in the first quarter of 2023.
