Maruti is doing very well with their current car lineup. Most of their cars have received an update and the remaining ones are soon expected to get new updates too. For 2022, they have updated their well-known cars like Baleno, Ertiga, XL6, and WagonR. After this, we will get to see the new Brezza this month (30th June) with the new Alto also expected to hit the market sometime this year or the starting of next year. Along with the current products, they are also new products to the market. One of them would be a C-segment SUV from Maruti, codenamed YFG, which has already been spotted testing on roads. In this article, we have mentioned everything we know about the Maruti Creta rival (YFG) starting from launch date to specifications.

Launch Details

Maruti has not said anything about their Creta rival until now and has neither given out information about its launch details, however, Toyota has revealed that their Creta rival will make a global unveil on the 1st of July. Now, looking at this, it is mostly expected that Maruti would mostly bring its Creta rival in the following weeks. So, taking into consideration a fair amount of time, we expect the YFG to see a launch before the festive season. Moreover, since many people in India buy new cars during the festival time, and that too Diwali, Maruti would not want to miss out on this opportunity to make good business.

Maruti Creta rival – Design

The C-segment SUV is being developed by Maruti and Toyota under their global joint venture. So the underpinnings would be shared but the both brands will use their unique design language to design the car. However, the Creta rival would get a boxy and muscular design as revealed from the spy shots.

Features

Maruti Creta rival

Maruti has started to adopt modern features as it has sensed the changing requirements of. modern buyer. Previously, Maruti was only known for affordable and good mileage cars but after the launch of the new Baleno, the game did completely change. The Maruti Creta rival is expected to come with features like a new 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, connected car technology, heads-up display, sunroof, idle start-stop, and more. Do you think Maruti would add some segment-first feature to the list?

Maruti is also expected to concentrate on safety with the SUV as this is one department where Maruti has taken a beating in the past. Moreover, with Bharat NCAP and six airbag rules coming in, the brand would have to concentrate on that as well since safety rating still play quite a role in the market. Expecting the launch to happen around October (since that is when Diwali is), we expect the SUV to at least come with six airbags. Along with this, ABS with EBD, traction control and drive modes could be expected.

Maruti Creta rival – Specifications

In India, Maruti has already discontinued the diesel engine options. So, it is difficult to assume that Maruti would be bringing one. However, to compensate for that, Maruti and Toyota will be adding strong hybrid tech to these cars. The biggest displacement engine that Maruti has is the updated K15C 1.5-litre naturally aspirated DualJet petrol unit that makes 102bhp & 137Nm of torque. This engine will mostly come paired with mild-hybrid and strong-hybrid tech, depending on the variants. Various transmission options are expected to be made available depending on the engine option. Also, the SUVs are touted to come based on Maruti’s Global-C platform and not on Toyota’s DNGA platform as expected earlier.
