India has always been a value-oriented market, but we are slowly seeing a change. Most people are although value-conscious, but some buyers break out of this chain, extend their budgets and get something that is FAST & FUN. Most fast cars are on the expensive side of things, however, Skoda could change this by bringing the RS version of the Slavia. Zac Hollis also hinted at the same a while ago. In today’s article, we will discuss this Rs 25 lakh performance car.

New development

Skoda Slavia RS

As a brand, the main USP of Skoda has always been its sedan lineup. Sedans like the Rapid, the Octavia and the Superb have achieved great success in India. The Slavia is Skoda’s latest shot at the sedan market in India. Slavia has managed to garner good response from the customers. To bag in on more numbers, is Skoda planning something new? Zac Hollis has given everybody a hint. He recently revealed that it would be ‘fantastic to do’ a Skoda Slavia RS and also revealed that people do enquire about a Slavia RS. All of this, although to be taken with a pinch of salt, does hint that a Slavia RS could be a possibility and could someday be a part of their lineup.

What could the Slavia RS get?

Skoda Slavia RS

It is hard to predict what all things the Slavia RS will come with. The Octavia vRS in India used to come with a 2.0-litre engine, however, we don’t expect to see a new engine being brought in for the Slavia RS. The 1.5-litre engine already makes 148bhp & 250Nm of torque which is way above what the competition has on offer. However, what Skoda could actually do is give the RS variant cosmetic changes like sportier bumpers and side skirts. Skoda could also give it red brake callipers, sporty spoiler and new alloy wheels. In terms of other mechanical changes, Skoda could stiffen the suspension to give it better driving dynamics at higher speeds. Skoda could also grab the opportunity to tune in a sweet sounding exhaust for the Slavia RS. On the interior front, we might get to see coloured stitchings, coloured dashboard highlights and RS badging on headrests.

Slavia Monte Carlo

With Volkswagen bringing in a GT variant for the Virtus with aggressive styling bits, could Skoda attempt to do the same? A Skoda Slavia Monte Carlo could definitely be a possibility since the Kushaq Monte Carlo edition was also launched recently.
