New Mahindra Scorpio to get AdrenoX system?
Undoubtedly, Mahindra Scorpio’s new generation is one of the most awaited car launches of 2022 and already has a lot of craze to back its popularity. The Scorpio has established its legacy ever-since its launch in 2002. The new Scorpio will be a big machine and will be one of the most feature-rich car in its segment. This car is expected to get Mahindra’s latest AdrenoX UI as well. In this article, we have mentioned all the details the the Scorpio’s AdrenoX system could come with.
AdrenoX & other features
AdrenoX is Mahindra’s connected car technology that houses a few important features as well. We see this technology being used in the Mahindra XUV700 currently. Now, looking at the spy shots of the upcoming Scorpio’s touchscreen infotainment system, we can speculate that it could come with the AdrenoX AI on the inside. What do you think could the AdrenoX feature-list include?
To take a reference of what the Scorpio’s AdrenoX could sport, we first need to take a look at what features does the XUV700’s AdrenoX UI comes with. So, XUV700’s AdrenoX gets 3D Sound Technology, Driver Drowsiness Detection, Drive Modes, AdrenoX Connect App, voice commands to control windows, cabin temperature, play music, find parking, etc. Moreover, remote start, remote lock-unlock, Geo-fencing, Valet mode, configurable alerts and Alexa built-in are some other features.
Now, looking at the features carefully, we can speculate that most of these could make their way to the Scorpio. Most of the features mentioned above are now becoming a common phenomena in modern cars. As far as some special features like 3D Sound Technology and drive modes are concerned, we will share with you some specific details. From the interior spy shots, we can see that the Scorpio gets a similar roof-mounted speaker setup as the XUV700. So, those spy shots hint that the Scorpio too could be coming with 3D Sound Technology. Moving on to Drive Modes, one of the interior spy shots clearly showed a dedicated ‘Drive Mode’ button being a part of the central button layout. So, all of this hints that the XUV700 and the Scorpio could share the AdrenoX system.
Now, what about ADAS? Could that be a part of the offering list? We don’t know yet. Nothing has been confirmed regarding the availability of ADAS for the Scorpio. Moreover, we have not received any spy shots that showcase an ADAS system being in place. However, it would be really ground-breaking if Mahindra decides to offer the new Scorpio with ADAS.
Interior
We have already spotted the interior of the new generation of the Scorpio. From the spy shots, we can say that it might get the 8.0-inch infotainment system or a larger 10.25-inch system. We can see the smaller infotainment unit on the MX trim of the XUV700. Below, you may see the interior of XUV700.
New Scorpio with AdrenoX – Engine Specifications
The new generation Scorpio is expected to be offered with both petrol & diesel engine options. The 2.0-litre mStallion petrol engine that produces 150bhp & 300Nm of torque could power the lower variants whereas the higher variants could come powered by the same 2.0-litre mStallion unit that is tuned to produced 197bhp & 380Nm of torque. The 2.2-litre mHawk diesel unit is expected to be borrowed from the lower variants of the XUV700. The lower variants produce 153bhp & 360Nm of torque. A powerful diesel engine from the XUV700 could be retained for the higher variants as well. The transmission options would be a six-speed manual and a six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
New Scorpio with AdrenoX – Price and Launch Details
Mahindra might keep the pricing of the Scorpio very aggressive, just like its new-age sibling, the XUV700. An aggressive starting price of Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) is expected. The launch is being touted to take place next month which marks the 20th anniversary of the Scorpio.
