When will we see the new generation Tata Nexon?
Tata Nexon has in a quick span of three to four years established itself as a trusted nameplate amongst buyers. The Nexon is not JUST a car in Tata’s stable, but rather represents the brand today on multiple fronts. The Nexon has not only secured the ‘best-selling compact SUV’ as well as ‘best-selling SUV’ titles for four straight months this year but has also taken lead in the electric space by a very huge margin. The brand looking at the success recently brought in a long-range version of the Nexon EV called the Nexon EV Max. However, it has been more than two years since Tata brought in the Nexon facelift. Tata has made it a point to regularly update its cars with features , variants and colours, but don’t you think it is time that Tata brings in a new-generation update for the Nexon? So, the question arises that when will we see the new-generation Tata Nexon? In this article, we have discussed all the information regarding its launch as well as other fronts.
Launch Expectations
The Nexon sales in every manner are great since the nameplate has been topping charts on every front. As mentioned above, the brand has already made it a habit to timely update its cars. With the recent addition of new features like ventilated seats, auto-dimming IRVM & air-purifier, it has already become an even better SUV. So, keeping these points in mind, Tata is not expected to update the Nexon this year. However, we expect the new generation of Nexon to come sometime in the second half of next year or by Q1 of 2024.
Design
The new-generation Nexon is expected to get a complete overhaul in terms of design since it would come based on the latest design language. New headlamps and tail lamp units, new alloys, new bumpers, etc. are expected. We expect the DRLs and indicators to be placed above with headlamps positioned below them. Nexon New Generation – Engine
Tata Nexon currently gets two engine options. The first is a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that makes 118bhp & 170Nm of torque and the second is a 1.5-litre diesel engine that makes 108bhp & 260Nm of torque. The transmission options include a six-speed manual and a six-speed AMT gearbox. For the new generation update, Tata could re-tune the engines to produce more power. Also, this time, we expect the Nexon to be made available with Tata’s new DCA gearbox that we see on the Altroz DCA.
New Generation Nexon – Features
Tata Nexon is already a feature-rich car with the new generation expected to get even more features. The new generation could get a bigger infotainment system. Along with that, features like a 360-degree camera, a new fully-digital instrument cluster, HUD, ambient lighting, etc. could also be added. Features like connected car technology, premium Harman sound system, ventilated seats, air purifier, etc. are expected to continue being a part fo the feature list. Could the new-generation borrow some features from the Curvv concept? This is something that we will have to wait for.
