The recent, full-blown showcase of the Mahindra Scorpio exterior has created a huge stir in the market. Everyone is waiting for the launch of the new Scorpio, or rather the Scorpio-N. 20 years in the business, the Scorpio has only grown in popularity and ruggedness. This time around, Mahindra is not only focusing on ruggedness but on technology as well. A while ago, the Scorpio N was spotted testing alongside a Ford Endeavour. In this article, we have mentioned some important details about the Mahindra Scorpio-N including the launch details as well as what is in store for the currently available SUV.

Mahindra Scorpio-N Size

Mahindra Scorpio-N

The Mahindra Scorpio was already a big car. Now, in its new generation, it could be even bigger. Although the car has been completely revealed, the spy shots from the past clearly showcase that the new Scorpio looks equally tall as the Endeavour, if not more. The Scorpio-N could be even bigger than the current generation SUV. A developed muscular body would surely help in giving the new Scorpio-N an even better road presence. Since the Toyota Fortuner is similarly-sized to the Endeavour, we expect the Scorpio-N to give tough fight to the Fortuner as well, in this department.

Engine options

Mahindra Scorpio-N

The Mahindra Scorpio-N is touted to come powered by the 2.0-litre petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines that also power the Thar and the XUV700. However, the engines on the Scorpio N are expected to produce power figures similar to that of the Thar. Mahindra could offer different states of tune for higher and lower variants. These engines would be mated to a six-speed manual and a six-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox. Also, 4X4 drivetrain will be on offer.

Mahindra Scorpio-N Features

The Mahindra Scorpio-N will have a lot of new-generation features that the current generation misses out on. A big touchscreen infotainment system with AdrenoX AI, a semi-digital instrument cluster, connected car tech, dual-zone climate control, third-row AC vents, and a normal electric sunroof are mostly expected to be part of the technology list. ADAS will or will not be on option is still a question that will be answered once more details are out.

Price & Launch

Mahindra Scorpio-N

Mahindra has set the launch date of the Scorpio-N as 27th June. Mahindra might keep the pricing of Scorpio very aggressive, just like its sibling, the XUV700. We expect the new-generation Scorpio to start with an aggressive price of somewhere around Rs 10 lakh to Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom). Considering the overall package, it is definitely a product worth waiting for. Also, Mahindra would continue selling the current-get Scorpio alongside the new one with the ‘Scorpio Classic’ nameplate.
