MG Ertiga competition getting ready

The MPV market has been heating up like the Indian summer. Once regarded as a segment dominated by Ertiga, the tables have started to turn with the launch of the Carens. Other manufacturers like MG have taken notice of this growth. MG already has a product to compete with the Ertiga & Carens called the 360M. In today’s article, we will discuss the MG 360M and if India launch is a possibility.

Design

The 360M looks quite premium from the outside as well as inside. It gets LED DRLs, LED tail lamps and 15-inch alloy wheels. From the side profile, the car looks identical to other MPVs. On the inside, it gets leather seats to enhance the overall appeal of the cabin. To make it more practical, MG also offers flat-folding 2nd & 3rd-row seats to increase the boot space.

MG 360M India – Specifications

The MG 360M is 4615mm in length, 1735mm in width & 1660mm in height. It sits on a wheelbase of 2750mm. The 360M gets a boot space of 1350-litre with 2nd & 3rd-row folded. Coming to the engine specifications, the MPV comes with a 1.5-litre petrol engine capable of producing 103bhp & 135Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a manual and a CVT gearbox. MG might give it the 1.3-litre turbo-petrol from the Astor as well to position this MPV as a strong competitor in the segment.

Features

Like other MG cars, the 360M will come loaded with features. It could sport features like an 8.0-inch infotainment system, electric sunroof, a multifunction steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster. The 360M might be made available in six-seater and seven-seater options. The six-seater option will come with captain seats.

MG 360M India – Launch and pricing

MG has not officially confirmed the 360M, but seeing the rise of the MPV segment, it makes sense for the brand to launch it in India. The pricing of the 360M is expected to start from Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with the updated Ertiga & XL6 and the newly launched Kia Carens.
