Tata Avinya EV to get 500km range!
Tata is one manufacturer that has consistently tried different things. It has launched special editions of its products to attract customers. Recently, it had showcased a new EV concept called the Curvv. After this event, Tata moved on to teasing another event. There had been a lot of speculations about what Tata is going to reveal next. Today, Tata has finally revealed its another new concept called Avinya. In today’s article, we will talk about the new Tata Avinya concept.
Design, Range & Other Details
As this is a concept, Tata has taken complete creative liberties. The Avinya concept displays Tata’s Pure EV design. At the front, we have quite a unique design with a big grille that is illuminated. Above the grille, we have a DRL running through the entire width forming a “T” in the middle. In the side profile, we can see a few sharp creases. The concept doesn’t get traditional ORVMs, but rather cameras that transmit feed into the car. At the rear, we have LED tail lights similar to the front DRLs.
This is the 3rd generation EV platform from Tata Motors. All the new Gen 3 vehicles will have 500km+ range. With the new generation there will be an increase in the vehicle space, despite being the same size. The Tata Curvv which was showcased earlier is a 2nd-gen EV and will launch within the next two years. The Curvv is expected to come with a size similar to the Hyundai Creta and will offer a range of 450kms. The 2nd generation gets a lot more advantages over the existing Nexon EV and other products which are modified from a petrol and diesel architecture to match that of an electric motor and battery pack.
Interior design
The interior of the Avinya concept gets a futuristic look. It gets a plain dashboard with ambient lighting running above it. As you would have noticed there are no touchscreens in the car – as the company is looking to make these new vehicles all voice controlled. Another highlight is the two-spoke steering with an integrated display. It also gets cool looking seats with speakers integrated into them. Tata has also integrated scent dispensers into the concept.
Tata Avinya concept – Launch timeline
The Tata Avinya is expected to see a launch sometime in 2025. Before that, the brand has plans to wrap up the launches of Curvv-based cars which will be offered in an electric avatar as well as in an ICE avatar.
