Currently, Citroen has only one car in its lineup. Soon after the C5 Aircross’ launch, Citroen started working on a mass-market car called the C3. Last year, Citroen unveiled the C3 for India. But Citroen has been tight lipped about its launch. In today’s article, we will talk about the expected price and launch timeline of the Citroen C3. Let’s begin.

Citroen C3 price and launch

The car is frequently spotted testing. It has even been spotted without any camouflage. Considering this, we can expect Citroen to soon launch the C3 in India very soon. It is expected to start from Rs 5.50 lakhs (ex-showroom). Its main competition will be cars from the micro SUV, compact SUV and premium hatchback segments.

Design

The C3 follows Citroen’s quirky design language. In some areas, the C3 looks like a mini version of the C5 Aircross. The front of the car gets a split DRL setup that integrates into the Citroen logo. In the side profile, it gets a lot of curvy bits, giving it that SUV look. At the rear, it has rectangular tail lamps. Other exterior highlights include orange accents, a flat bonnet & blacked-out pillars.

The C3 is built on Citroen’s CMP modular platform. Citroen has built this platform, especially for the Indian market. Jeep was also reported to use this platform for its compact SUV, but that plan has been scrapped. The C3 will most probably come with a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine. This engine will come paired with a five-speed manual and a seven-speed DCT gearbox.

The C3 comes loaded with features. The first thing you will notice is the floating touchscreen and colour dashboard. Below the infotainment system, we have rectangular AC vents and manual AC switches. Other interior highlights include a digital instrument cluster, three-spoke steering wheel, mobile holder and charging ports.
