The Maruti Ciaz has been the biggest competitor to the leader Honda City. There was a brief period when it also outsold the City. However, it has not been able to maintain that. The City still continues to rule the C sedan segment and Maruti is aware of this fact. The City was first challenged by the first generation Baleno, which was a sedan. Though very capable, Maruti was then focussing on its smaller cars, hence the Baleno lost out. The SX4 that came later also sold in good number, but was not able to dislodge the City. There will now be a facelifted version of the Maruti Ciaz coming up.Maruti has also tried to change to image of the Ciaz by introducing it to the Nexa Experience showrooms. The Maruti Ciaz 2018 will get a few upgrades, which is expected to make it an even more attractive offering.
The Maruti Ciaz 2018 will come as a facelift. There is no change in the dimensions of this car The styling of the sedan will receive subtle changes and the Ciaz will now look different. However these cosmetic changes will not be major. Buyers have been waiting for a more premium look and some upgrades to the Ciaz. Many have often asked us about sunroof, cruise control and even an HDMI input in the upcoming Ciaz. There are many enthusiasts who are hoping for a bigger set of petrol and diesel engines too.
The facelift of the Maruti Ciaz 2018 has been accordingly planned by the company. The SHVS will most likely be discontinued as this has made the Ciaz expensive, due to the tax structure on hybrids. The petrol is very affordable, but will the company upgrade it and offer more features? Read further to know more about the Maruti Ciaz 2018.

The pricing will not change much. The major reasons being, this segment is highly competitive and at the moment, the diesel engine is expensive due to GST on hybrids. The chances to get a new engine are very miniscule.

Maruti Ciaz 2018 Review (Video 2017)
Maruti Ciaz 2018 India Design
Though the current Maruti Ciaz looks stylish, it is need of a facelift. The Ciaz does seems a lot more premium and upmarket than the rest of the Maruti cars. The broad front grille with chrome on it, followed by pulled back headlamps. Maruti has done a stunning job with the design. This sedan has good road presence and is in fact, the longest sedan in its category. The long proportions of the car give it a very premium look.
From the rear this car resembles the Honda City. The Maruti Ciaz 2018 will have similar dimensions but there will be a change in the headlamp, front grille and tail lamps. It will now get a wider front grille and hew headlamps which will look sharper. The front bumper will also be new and will have revised air ducts, The fog lamps will also be of a new design. The sides will not see any major change. The only change will be a new set of alloy wheels. These will be 16-inch, black-machined ones. The rear will also be identical to the current model but will get new taillamps.

Maruti Ciaz 2018 Interiors
The interiors of the Ciaz are pleasing. The plastic quality, the fit and finish are also good. The touch and feel of the materials is also better than all other Maruti cars. The black and beige interiors look good and the interiors are soft touch. The Maruti Ciaz 2018 will have the same dashboard layout which is simple and functional. There will be features one requires and pretty simplistic. A large touchscreen will sit at the centre and below that will the controls for auto air-conditioning. The instrument cluster is clear and easy to read as well. There is a neatly integrated driver information system as well. This will be seen on the Maruti Ciaz 2018 too. Not too much of a change inside the vehicle, as the interiors look stylish and appealing.
The front seats are comfortable and there will not be any change in it. The rear seats lack the thigh support but are extremely spacious. There is more than sufficient space for rear passengers be it knee room or head room, however what goes missing the comfort. The seats could have been a bit more supportive for tall passengers. The boot size is also large enough on the Maruti Ciaz 2018, making it good to be used for a weekend for a family of four. As it is a facelift there shall be no change in the dimensions, space and even the boot size of the sedan.

A 1.4-litre petrol engine powers the Ciaz currently. This produces about 90bhp of power and is an oversquare engine. Which means it will have good torque even at low engine speeds. This means that there will be sufficient punch from the engine even when driving at low speeds in city traffic. This time there will be a new petrol engine replacing it. This will be a 1.5-litre unit. This engine will churn out around 110bhp of power and 150NM of torque.
Another new engine that will be seen on the new Maruti Ciaz, will be the 1.5-litre diesel engine. This new engine will replace the existing 1.3-litre unit. This engine has 120bhp of power and 250Nm of maximum torque. This engine will come only with a five-speed manual transmission. A six-speed would have been preferred.
