Maruti has moved the sales of the Ciaz through Nexa Experience. The Maruti Ciaz 2017 will be sold through Nexa Experience showrooms. Now, the Ciaz will be getting further upgrades which are cosmetic in nature. The changes would be both to the exteriors and interiors of the car. The variants had been changed earlier. Instead of Xi and Di it only get variants like Sigma, Zeta, Delta and Alpha now. There were some other minor changes too, like a new colour.
The new Ciaz will not just get several new features. This will make it even more competitive. There are several new bells and whistles that will be on offer. For instance, cruise control, daytime running LEDs, tail lamp LEDs and maybe even 16-inch alloy wheels. The features on offer will be a lot more than what is currently available.
There is likely to be an upgrade of engines too. It is rumoured that the petrol engine will be replaced by a 1.5-litre and a new diesel engine could be on offer, which will be a 1.6-litre also. The 1.3-litre diesel shall continue, but an additional bigger diesel engine should also be on offer as well. The petrol engine should be offered with a CVT and the four-speed automatic should go away. These new engines will make the Ciaz a lot more powerful, which is what the competition has been offering. This will make it at par with them.

The Maruti Ciaz 2017 will cost about the same as now as there is no change in features, just name of the variants. There might be a slight increase in price but not that will be a minuscule hike. To begin with, the diesel engine of the New Maruti Ciaz 2017 will get an advantage over the petrol as it gets a subsidy for the mild hybrid system it uses. This is the SHVS technology which will also be passed to other models from Maruti. The prices mentioned above are likely to be for the National Capital, other cities the prices will see an increase depending on the road taxes.

The Ciaz petrol isn’t the most efficient engine as it returns about 10km/l in the city (for the manual) and about 14km/l on the highway. At the same time, the automatic has a mileage of about 9km/l in the city and close to 13km/l on the highway. At the same time, the diesel engine is high on mileage. In city it will return about 16km/l and on the highway it has an efficiency close to 20km/l.

Maruti Ciaz 2017 also looked stylish. The Ciaz seems a lot more premium and upmarket than any of its siblings. The broad front grille with chrome on it, followed by pulled back headlamps. Maruti has d=done a stunning job with the design. Where the sedan stands is its road presence and the fact that it is longer than the rest of the competition. The Ciaz does stand out in the crowd, and looks like a bigger sedan from its side profile.
Now moving to the rear, there is a resemblance to its biggest competitor Honda City. The new Nexa blue just makes the Ciaz look more rich and classy. The Ciaz can be a good inspiration for many of the Maruti’s upcoming designs. This one does look perfect for the Nexa experience family. This is where the Ciaz can be differentiated from the other Maruti cars.

There are four variants available on the petrol and diesel engines. These are Sigma,Delta, Zeta and Alpha. All these variants are available on the Ciaz, and there shall even be an automatic on the petrol and yes the RS version for the diesel. The prices haven’t been shared yet, we will share the new updated prices as the company releases them.
On the inside, the Ciaz looks so upmarket. The plastic quality, the fit and finish make it feel premium. The touch and feel of the materials is also better than all other Maruti cars. The black and beige interiors look good and the interiors are soft touch. The Ciaz’s dashboard layout is simple and functional. There are all the features one needs and it is very simple to use them. A large touchscreen system dominates the centre console and then there is also climate control. The instrument cluster is easy to read as well. There is a neatly integrated driver information system as well.
The front seats are comfortable. The rear seats lack the thigh support but are extremely spacious. There is more than sufficient space for rear passengers be it knee room or head room, however what goes missing the comfort. The seats could have been a bit more supportive for tall passengers. The boot size is also large enough on the 2017 Ciaz, making it good to be used for a weekend for a family of four.
A 1.4-litre petrol engine powers the Ciaz. This produces about 90bhp of power and is an oversquare engine. Which means it will have good torque even at low engine speeds. This means that there will be sufficient punch from the engine even when driving at low speeds in city traffic. The engine is silent and it has more than sufficient power to be driven in city and even to comfortably cruise on the highway. At the same time, the engine has very low NVH levels, making it a highly refined engine. This engine comes with five-speed manual and four-speed automatic transmission options.
This is followed by a 1.3-litre diesel engine that will produce about 90bhp of power and 200Nm of maximum torque. This engine is also used on other Maruti cars also. This engine comes with SHVS technology (which is basically mild hybrid). This is a start-stop technology that will start and stop a car in traffic, and then when you brake, the braking heat is converted into electric energy and stored in a battery. This improves the engine’s efficiency and increases the cars mileage also. This engine will come only with a five-speed manual transmission.
