Tata has the first-mover advantage when it comes to electric vehicles in India. They have successfully captured over 70% of the EV market here. Nexon EV is the best-selling EV in India as of today. The brand recently showcased a concept car, the Tata Curvv. Tata will bringing it as an EV as well as an ICE-powered vehicle. But before its launch, the company is already working on two EVs that are expected to enter the market soon. In this article, we have mentioned the upcoming Tata electric cars that might be launched before the Curvv.

Tata Nexon EV Long Range

For many buyers, one of the biggest drawbacks of the Nexon EV is its range. So to fix that, Tata is all-set to launch the Nexon EV with a bigger battery pack. We expect it to be christened the Nexon EV Long Range. It will get a bigger 40kWh battery pack over the current 30.2kWh pack. The long range is expected to come with a claimed range of over 400km. A real-world range of 300-320km on a single charge can thus be expected. Tata will be launching the Nexon EV Long Range on the 28th of March.

The Altroz EV will be completely based on the ongoing Altroz with minimal tweaks in design. It will be based on the ALFA-Arc platform, which was specially developed for the Altroz EV. This car might get a 30.2kWh liquid-cooled, IP67 lithium-ion battery pack. The motor powering it might be a 3-Phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous unit which could generate around 100bhp.

The Altroz EV might take an hour on DC fast charging to charge from 0-80%. The range is expected to be around 250km on a single charge. We expect to see the Altroz EV before the first quarter of 2023. It might be priced somewhere between Rs 12 lakhs to Rs 15 lakhs (on-road).
