Mahindra Two Wheelers are working on a 150cc bike to rival the likes of Suzuki Gixxer, Bajaj Pulsar, etc and there is a high probability of them unveiling this at the Auto Expo 2016.

The bike in question will be powered by a 150 cc engine. The motorcycle boosts of an all-new chassis and an all-new powertrain, both of which are being developed in-house at the company’s R&D centre in Pune. IAB has learnt that the engine, which will be a BS-IV compliant unit, is undergoing its final stages of testing while the motorcycle’s design is yet to take its final form.

The company is yet to finalize its target audience, post which the styling and features of the model will be decided. MTWL currently offers five distinct variants of the Mahindra Centuro which is an entry-level commuter motorcycle, and the Mahindra Mojo which is a niche offering targeted at touring communities.

The Mahindra 150 cc motorcycle is the first of upcoming motorcycles from the company that will fill the void between the Centuro and the Mojo. Mahindra intends to make a presence in every important two wheeler segment in the coming years. In the scooter business, the company has just unveiled the Mahindra Gusto 125 which will be launched in the coming weeks.
