Royal Enfield Himalayan is an adventure motorcycle. It is one of the most loved Royal Enfield bikes. This bike kick-started the craze of the affordable adventure riding segment in India. Now, Royal Enfield has plans to launch an even more powerful 450cc bike to make its segment even more exciting. In this article, we have mentioned all the things we could expect in the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450.

Looks

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450

The Royal Enfield Himalayan is a classic, purposeful adventure as well as an off-roading motorcycle. The new Himalayan 450 would also look like the Himalayan 411 but will be a little larger than the current one. It might get a muscular fuel tank with a capacity of above 15 litres. The looks will be different because of the whole new engine and platform. The Himalayan 450 will get a trellis chassis and get a revised new swing arm. We expect this bike to be lighter than the Himalayan too.

Engine specifications

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450

As of now, Royal Enfield has three engine options – a 350cc single-cylinder, 411cc single-cylinder, and 650cc parallel-twin engines. Without considering these engines, the brand is working on an all-new engine. This engine will be a powerful, 450cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, with a six-speed gearbox. We expect that this engine would produce power above 40bhp and torque figures close to 40Nm!

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 – Features

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450

As it is with Royal Enfield, they will continue to offer retro bikes with few features and focus more on design. We expect that the Himalayan 450 might get an instrument console that will be completely different from the current Himalayan. We expect the bike to get a TFT display now with customization options and more information displayed than any Royal Enfield ever. As it is an off-roader, it will also get the option of switchable ABS. We expect the bike to get more electronics like cornering ABS and traction control too. At the front, it should get a 21-inch tire and at the rear a 17-inch tire will be available. We expect the overall ground clearance to also increase from 220mm. From spy shots we already know that the bike gets beefier upside-down forks and the rear monoshock will hopefully be adjustable.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 – Pricing and conclusion

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 will be more focused on fast highway riding and off-roading. So, It would be more capable of holding highway speeds than the Himalayan 411. It would be placed between the Himalayan 411 and the 650 twins. So, we expect that it might be priced between Rs 2.6 lakhs to Rs 2.7 lakhs (ex-showroom). It might be launched at the start of 2023. If highway traveling is your priority and you are not in a hurry for a new bike, the Himalayan 450 might be a perfect choice to wait for.
