Toyota will be upgrading its best seller – Corolla with a facelift this year and the images of it have been leaked.  These images are submitted to the European Union trademark and patent office.

The new look of the Corolla has been seen already in China, where Toyota sells it in a hybrid version. The current Corolla Altis sold in India was a big improvement over its earlier generation one, however the 2016 version gets even more sleek and is mean looking. It has new sharper looking headlamps, a bold chrome twin-slat grille, round fog lamps with trapezoidal chrome bezels that extended across the lower part of the front bumper.

The tail lamps are also new ones and the car gets new alloy wheels as well, with a machined finish. The US version (left side, below) gets different headlamps, grille, bumper and taillamps

There may not be any changes to the engines and the Corolla Altis will continue to run on the 1.8-litre, four-cylinder petrol VVT-i, engine, which produces 138bhp and 173Nm of torque.

This comes paired to a size-speed manual gearbox as well as a CVT. The other engine is a 1.4-litre diesel with 87bhp and 205Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Corolla Altis is one of the favourite cars in its segment and this facelift will add soma paparazzi to this reliable and efficient machine.
