Finally, after months of waiting Maruti has launched the Jimny in India. The Jimny will be taking on the Mahindra Thar as it is the only lifestyle SUV available in the market today. Maruti has launched the Jimny through its premium Nexa outlets. The variant lineup consists of GL Lite, GLX MT and GLX AT variants. The pricing of the Jimny is set at Rs 8.59 lakh, Rs 9.49 lakh and Rs 10.29 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively. Colour options include single tone colour options like Jungle Green, Superior White, Silky Silver Metallic, Medium Grey and Chiffon Ivory Metallic. Dual-tone colour options are expected to be offered in future updates.

Dimensions

Maruti has launched the three-door Jimny in India. It might launch the five-door in the future. The Jimny is 3850mm in length, 1645mm in width and 1730mm in height. It sits on a wheelbase of 2550mm and has a ground clearance of 210mm.

The Jimny is powered by Maruti’s 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine. This engine is capable of producing 101bhp and 130Nm of torque. It comes with manual as well as automatic gearbox options. Maruti has however restrained itself from offering a diesel unit.

The Jimny comes with a decent amount of features. It comes with features like an 8.0-inch infotainment system, ABS+EBD, LED projector & headlamps, etc. Off-roading wise, it comes with hill descent control, hill hold features and a brake limited-slip differential.
