Mahindra working on a special SUV after the Scorpio
Mahindra has completely shifted its focus towards its SUV lineup. Its next big-ticket SUV launch will be the new Scorpio. The new Scorpio will get a big design change and lots of new features. Mahindra is then expected to shift its focus to a very niche segment. The brand is set to be working on a coupe-SUV called the XUV900. In today’s article, we will see this Mahindra’s special SUV after Scorpio.
The XUV900 will be quite a unique product in Mahindra’s portfolio. Design-wise, it gets share some design elements from the XUV700. So we can expect C-shaped DRLs with an aggressive grille. The side profile will house the maximum changes due to the notchback design. The notchback design gives the coupe their sporty dynamics and practicality. Also, we expect Mahindra to give stylish alloy wheels and a retractable spoiler.
The XUV900 will be based on Mahindra’s global W601 platform like the XUV700. It will share its engines with the XUV700. So we can expect the same 2.0-litre mStallion petrol and 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine. Mahindra might re-tune the engine to extract even more power for the XUV900. Considering it will be a performance-oriented car, we can expect a DCT gearbox as well as a manual gearbox. It is also expected to come with a tuned suspension to enhance its sporty nature.
Mahindra special SUV – Features
Mahindra will surely load the XUV900 with features considering it will become the flagship product in its lineup. It could get paddle shifters to complement its sporty nature. Other standout features could include panoramic sunroof, voice recognition, wireless charging, digital instrument cluster, big infotainment system with AdrenoX and much more. In terms of safety, it will get safety features like the XUV700. Mahindra could also give it ADAS (level2) to increase its safety.
