It is rumoured that Tata is the prime candidate to buy Ford’s Sanand plant. The Sanand plant has an annual production capacity of 2.4 lakh units. So Tata is looking to produce 5 lakh cars in a year, which comes to around 41,000 cars per month. With the added plant, Tata can go even higher in the future. Tata can use the Sanand plant to produce its upcoming Nexon coupe and planned EVs like the Sierra EV.

Tata sales – Big bet on the Nexon

As mentioned above, Tata Motors has seen bumper sales rise. The major contributor to this growth has been the Nexon. Now the company is looking to go one step further with Nexon. It is looking to produce 15,000 Nexon’s as well as 3000 Nexon EVs. For comparison, in February 2022, it sold 12,259 units of the Nexon and the EV combined. It is also looking to sell 10,000 units of the Altroz and the Punch.

Tata sales – Upcoming products

Tata has a sleeve of upcoming products in the next few years. It is working on petrol engine options for the Harrier and Safari. Then it will bring the Harrier facelift, followed by the Nexon EV coupe. Tata could also launch the Sierra EV.

How will all of this benefit you?

With Tata all set to expand its production capacity, the waiting periods of its cars will go down, which is a major concern for buyers these days. Also, with the brand planning to bring in more number of EVs as well as other products, you as a customer would get to select a product from a wider portfolio.
