Tata motors’s Aria replacement the HEXA has been undergoing heavy testing and has been spotted again close up. It is expected to be unveiled at the Auto Expo 2016 and launch at a later time in 2016.

The Tata Hexa will adopt a rugged crossover design which will differentiate it from the ongoing model the Aria’s MPV look.  The Hexa was first showcased at the Geneva Motor Show and hopes to change Tata’s fortunes in the Indian market. Autocar managed to drive a pre-production Tata Hexa, revealing more of the exterior design.

The Hexa is powered by a 2.2-liter four-cylinder VARICOR 400 turbodiesel engine that delivers 152bhp and 400Nm torque. A 6-speed manual gearbox is expected in lower variants, while a GM-sourced 6-speed automatic is reported as the alternative. The Hexa will also feature a 4WD system with a Drive Mode selector.

Top variants will come equipped with ESP (electronic stability program), projector headlamps with auto function, taillamps with LED position lamps, large alloy wheels, 6-seat configuration with captain seats, leather upholstery with twin-needle stitching, mood lighting, window shades and 6 airbags.
