How will Volkswagen Virtus be different from Slavia?
Skoda recently launched the Slavia in India. Slavia is a mid-size sedan with great design and modern interiors. Now, Volkswagen is gearing up to unveil the Virtus in India. Both the Slavia and the Virtus are based on the VW group’s MQB-AO-IN platform. Like the Kushaq and Taigun, both brands will differentiate each car to give them their unique identity. In today’s article, we will see how Volkswagen Virtus is different from Slavia.
Design
Though the Virtus is the sister model to the Slavia, both cars will get a completely different design. The Slavia, for that matter, takes a lot of design cues from the Fabia and the Octavia. So we can also expect the Virtus to take cues from the new-generation Polo which is sold outside India. It will get a single-piece headlamp, two-slat chrome grille and chrome inserts on the lower part of the bumper. The side profile of both cars will be similar. Volkswagen will also be using a lot of chrome bits as it did with the Taigun.
Virtus different from Slavia – interiors
In the interiors, the Volkswagen Virtus will get a premium-looking fit & finish. The Virtus will offer the understated feel of Volkswagen interiors. It is expected to borrow design cues from the Polo. We can also expect something similar to the Taigun. Feature-wise it is not expected to get any special feature over the Taigun.
Virtus different from Slavia – GT variant
The Virtus will get a sportier GT variant like the Taigun. The GT variant will get a lot of visual changes to differentiate from the standard variants. It will get GT badging and red brake calipers. Other changes will include sporty bumpers and unique alloy wheels. The seats of the GT variant will also get red stitching.
