Should Fortuner buyers should wait for the Meridian

We have seen many seven-seater cars in the last year. Mahindra has launched their XUV700, Tata brought Safari and Kia launched Carens. American SUV-maker, Jeep recently unveiled their seven-seater SUV, the Meridian in the Indian market. In this article, we will see whether the Fortuner buyers should wait for this car.
New Jeep Meridian – Looks and design

The Jeep Meridian is a three-row full-size SUV. It looks very similar to the Compass. At the front, the Meridian gets a seven-slat front grille with the Jeep logo over the bonnet. From the side, it will be longer than the Compass. Compared to the Fortuner, this car has a modern design. So, if you want a modern design SUV, you can wait for this car.
New Jeep Meridian – Interior and Features

There is a lot to talk about in the interior. This car would get many modern and fancy features compared to a Toyota Fortuner. It might get a big 10.1-inch floating infotainment system with FCA’s UConnect 5, the connected car tech. Talking about the features, it can get a digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera, leather upholstery, ventilated seats, powered tailgate, electrically-adjustable driver’s seat, and many more. It can also get a train-rated 4×4 for tough terrain. We also expect that this car might even get the ADAS technology. The Toyota Fortuner feels old in terms of features compared to the Meridian.
New Jeep Meridian – Pricing

We expect that the launch price of the Jeep Meridian will start from Rs 30 lakhs. So, it will be a lot more affordable than the Toyota Fortuner. In the market, it will compete with the Toyota Fortuner, Mahindra Alturas, and the MG Gloster.
Conclusion

Toyota Fortuner is obviously the first choice of many buyers in this segment. But some people who appreciate more features can consider this car. Also, if you want good features with a tight budget, you can wait for the launch of Jeep Meridian.
