Skoda is investing a lot of money and efforts into the Indian market with its ‘Project 2.0’. This investment is focusing on bringing new cars and also improving after sales support. Skoda recently launched its mid-size sedan, the Slavia. The Slavia is an important product for Skoda considering its expertise in making sedans. After the Slavia, Skoda is planning a sleeve of products for India. In today’s article, we will see Upcoming Skoda cars in India.
Sub-four-metre SUV
The sub-four-metre SUV is quite a popular segment in India. This segment consists of cars like the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet etc. Skoda is also planning to enter this segment with a new car. This car will be based on the MQB A0 IN platform like the Kushaq. It will share most of its parts and features with the Kushaq. This compact SUV is still in its early stages of development and can only be expected after 2023.
Three-row SUV
Skoda is also planning to bring an affordable three-row SUV to compete with the Kia Carens and Alcazar. This segment has seen a lot of activity in the last year. This seven-seater will most likely be based on the MQB A0 IN platform. Other things about this three-row SUV are still unknown.
Upcoming Skoda cars in India- Electric SUV
Skoda will also be entering the EV space via the Completely Knocked down (CKD) route. This car will most likely be the Enyaq electric SUV. The Enyaq is based on Volkswagen’s MEB platform. The Volkswagen ID.4 is based on the same platform. Globally, it comes with several batteries and motors options. Dimensions wise, the Enyaq is similar to the Safari.
