Two major announcements from Tata Motors – SHOCKING!
Tata is expanding its product line-up at a rapid pace. It has products in all popular segments in India. The Altroz is Tata’s product in the premium hatchback segment. It is known for its high safety ratings and aggressive design. However, one of the major weaknesses of the Altroz is the lack of an automatic gearbox. Tata had been working on a DCT gearbox for Altroz for some time now and the brand has finally teased the upcoming Altroz DCT on its YouTube handle.
What has been teased?
Tata Motors has posted a teaser video of the Altroz automatic on its official YouTube channel. This video has been posted on the occasion of National Science Day. At the end of the video, an automatic gearbox is displayed. We are quite confident of it being a DCT unit. We can expect an official announcement in the first or second week of March.
Other expectations from Tata Altroz DCT
Tata will most likely offer the DCT gearbox only with the 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine. Currently, the Altroz only comes with a manual gearbox. Tata will surely give the Altroz a special colour for the DCT variants, similar to what it did with the i-Turbo variants. We can also expect some exterior changes to showcase the sporty nature of DCT. Tata will give it the DCT badging as well. On the interior front, it could get some new features to attract customers. We can expect a price hike of Rs 1 lakh over the i-Turbo manual variants, which starts from Rs 9.60 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
Tata Nexon new variants
Tata Motors rolled out the 3,00,00th Nexon from its Ranjangaon facility recently. Tata Motors has recorded sales of 100k units in less than 8 months. To mark this milestone, Tata Motors has today launched four new variants of the Nexon. The four new variants are XZ+, XZA+ and XZ+ (HS)/ XZA+ (HS) in petrol and diesel variants. These new variants come with features like ventilated front seats, an air purifier and auto-dimming IRVM. Additionally, the new XZ+(HS)/XZA+ (HS) will come with an air purifier as well.
