Tata Altroz DCT spied again – Sources reveal new details!

Tata Motors is expanding its product lineup at a rapid pace. It has products in almost all popular segments in India. The Altroz leads the charge in the premium hatchback segment for Tata. It is known for its aggressive styling and high safety ratings. However, one of the major weaknesses of the Altroz is its lack of automatic options. The Altroz is only offered with a manual gearbox. Tata is however said to be working on a DCT gearbox for the Altroz for quite some time now. We have now obtained new spy shots of the Tata Altroz and some new details. In today’s article, we will see the spied Tata Altroz DCT.

What new details were revealed?

A group of Tata Altroz with heavy camouflage were spotted by one of our readers. The cars were spotted testing in Mahabaleshwar. The exterior doesn’t reveal anything new, but our reader had a chat with one of the drivers revealing some important information. According to our reader, the gearbox was covered with a cloth, hinting at a new transmission that the brand is trying to keep under the wraps for now.

According to our reader, the Altroz DCT will offer a mileage of around 16-17kmpl. We expect these to be ARAI-figures and not real-world figures.

Tata Altroz DCT spied – Other expectations

Tata will most likely offer the DCT gearbox only with the 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine. Currently, the Altroz only comes with a manual gearbox. Considering the heavy camouflage, we expect some exterior changes as well but nothing major. Tata will give it the DCT badging. On the interior front, it could get some extra features to attract more customers. We expect to see a price hike of close to Rs 1 lakh over the i-Turbo manual variants, which starts from Rs 9.60 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
