Indians love cars from Maruti Suzuki as they are reliable, fuel-efficient, and easy to own & maintain. Maruti sells their premium cars under its ‘Nexa’ sub-brand. As we all know, Maruti has a long list of cars that are awaiting a launch in 2022. Some of these cars will be sold through the Maruti Nexa outlets. In this article, we will discuss upcoming cars for Maruti Nexa

New Generation Maruti Suzuki Baleno

The very first car to be launched this year through Maruti Nexa will be the 2022 new generation Maruti Suzuki Baleno. The new generation Baleno gets a major update as far as the exteriors are concerned. The front bumper and grille will get a new design update along with new headlights. The rear gets a new tailgate with new L-shaped tail lamps.

The interior also gets a newly designed dashboard layout. In terms of features, the new Baleno will get a bigger touchscreen infotainment system, a heads-up display unit and a few other modern features. The engine options however are expected to remain the same. The CVT gearbox may be replaced with an AMT gearbox to make this car more cost-effective. Maruti is also expected to offer this hatchback with CNG kits.

New Generation Maruti Suzuki S-Cross

Overall, while we expect Maruti to keep this car in their portfolio as it’s premium offering – there is a scenario that the Creta competition car being made in collaboration with Toyota will be replacing the S-Cross. The new generation S-Cross looks more aggressive. The exterior gets a whole new design with a wider front grille and new headlights. In terms of features, the S-Cross gets a bigger floating infotainment system. The Maruti S-Cross is expected to get a 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid technology for better fuel efficiency.

Maruti Suzuki XL7

Maruti is a brand that currently dominates the MPV segment with its Ertiga and XL6. Maruti XL6 is a premium product that is offered through the Nexa showroom. Along with XL6, a new product, the XL7 is expected to be launched in the coming time. This car will be similar to the XL6 with the only difference being the seating arrangement.

The XL6 gets captain seats in the second row making it a six-seater, whereas the XL7 will come with a bench seat in the second row with a 60:40 split for easy access to the third row. The XL7 will be powered by the same 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces 103bhp & 138Nm of torque, mated to a five-speed manual and a new six-speed automatic transmission that will make its way to the upcoming Ertiga facelift.

Maruti Nexa XL5

Just like Maruti Nexa XL6 is a premium version of the Maruti Ertiga, the brand is expected to be working on a premium version of its ever-popular WagonR expected to be called the XL5. It will continue to carry the boxy stance of the Wagon R along with eyebrow DRLs with headlamps placed below them. The XL5 will also include a blacked-out grille, chrome elements, new alloy wheels, redesigned bumpers, and Nexa specific colors.

The XL5 will also get premium interiors. A modern dashboard layout with black interiors is expected to be offered in the XL5. Engine options will continue to be the same as the Wagon R. The XL5, if launched, will be sold through Nexa outlets.

Maruti Nexa Jimny 5-door

upcoming Maruti Nexa cars

Maruti Jimny five-door is finally expected to make its debut in the country, mostly by the end of this year. The five-door variant of Jimny would make more sense as Maruti would focus on delivering an overall value-for-money product, similar to all its other offerings. The Jimny will get Maruti’s 1.5-litre petrol engine that powers its other cars like the Vitara Brezza, Ciaz, etc. The five-door Maruti Jimny will be sold through Nexa outlets in India. We expect a 4X4 drive train to be offered with the Jimny as well.
