We had brought you the news only recently that Bajaj is looking to bring in a replacement for their Discover motorcycle range. Well, the Chakan based two-wheeler giant is well and truly underway with their plans. A heavily camouflaged motorcycle has been spotted on the streets and it is expected to be part of the commuter sub-brand that Bajaj is looking to introduce in the market, sometime in the coming year.

It had been reported that the new, Discover replacement line with feature motorcycles with engine capacities in the range of 135cc to 150cc. The test-mule spotted appeared to be the larger capacity, 150cc motor variant. The new motorcycle is likely to be a cruiser commute, if one were to go by the general dimensions & appeal of the one being tested. While Bajaj has only months ago unveiled a 150cc variant of their popular Avenger range of premium cruiser motorcycles, this new test mule could most likely be a commuter-oriented, budget take on the same.

The Chakan based motorcycle giant is known to offer multiple motorcycles across varying price-points and appropriate market positioning in the same engine capacities. An analogy for the same would be Bajaj’s very own Discover & Pulsar being offered in the same 150cc capacity. Both motorcycles were positioned at specific buyer sets as per their price-points. With varying appeal on the performance front together with distinctive styling and ride characteristics, it could very well be that Bajaj is pull off an encore in the cruiser segment this time.

Understandably, nothing can be said about the bike in terms of the other mechanical details. The test-mule did appear to be running a 17-16 inch front-rear alloy setup, with a 240mm disc and 130mm drum combo respectively. The bike sported regular telescopic fork and twin-shocks at the front and rear respectively.
