Should you buy this Rs 7 lakh fuel-efficient car?

Maruti Suzuki has recently launched the next generation Celerio on the 10th of November 2021. This car as expected is an all-new car with a minimum carry forward from its previous generation. They have also launched a CNG variant of the Celerio. In this article, we will discuss the new generation Maruti Celerio CNG variant and what all it has to offer.

Maruti Celerio CNG Design

The car gets an all-new design and looks like a different car when compared to the previous generation Celerio. The front fascia of the car gets an upright nose with an oval grille. The grille gets a chrome strip that runs across it with a honeycomb detailing the inside of the grille. The design of headlamps is triangular and gets halogen lights. The car also gets fog lamps. Black detailing and sharp angular edges on the bumper give it a sporty look. The side profile of the new generation Celerio gets familiar ORVM with turn indicators as seen on other Maruti Suzuki cars. The car gets 15-inch alloy wheels and flap-style door handles.

Interior

The car gets an all-new designed interior and looks very different from the current generation of Celerio. The major attraction is the floating touchscreen infotainment system. There are silver elements introduced for AC vents that make it look premium. The steering wheel and AC controls seem to be borrowed from Maruti WagonR.

SmartPlay infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, electrically adjustable mirrors, push-button start-stop, reverse parking camera, and steering mounted controls. Safety features like dual-airbags and ABS are offered in this variant of the Celerio.

Specifications and Features

Let’s talk about the fact that separates this car from the rest of the crowd – the CNG variant. The next-generation Celerio VXi variant gets Maruti’s K10C 1.0-litre three-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine offered with a factory-fitted CNG kit that produces 56bhp & 82Nm of torque mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The car is said to be more fuel-efficient than the current generation Celerio. And along with CNG, the fuel efficiency is claimed to be best in the class at 31.79km/kg (ARAI Claimed) while Maruti claims it to be 35.60 km/kg.

Price

The Maruti Celerio VXi with CNG is priced at Rs 7.42 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). If you are someone who has fuel efficiency as a top priority then this is one car you should consider shortlisting.
