Carmakers have understood one thing about Indian car buyers very clearly, that they like big cars. They need space and comfort for their family as they love to travel together. Therefore, most carmakers are trying to introduce a seven-seater SUV or an MPV in India. In this article, we will discuss two such seven-seaters that are expected very soon on our Indian roads.

Kia Carens

12 lakh seven-seaters

The recently unveiled Kia Carens will very soon be seen at your nearest Kia dealership showrooms once launched. The Carens is set to be offered in six-seater (with captain seats) and seven-seater (bench seats) configurations. The Kia Carens will be offered with three engine options; a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The 1.5-litre petrol engine will produce 113bhp & 144Nm of torque. The 1.4-litre turbo-petrol produces 138bhp & 242Nm of torque and the 1.5-litre diesel engine produces 113bhp & 250Nm of torque. These engines are offered with manual as well as automatic gearbox options.

The Kia Carens comes with six-airbags as a standard across all variants. The Kia Carens also offers a single pane sunroof in its top-end variant, which is a segment-first feature in India. The official launch of Kia Carens is expected in February 2022.

Hyundai Stargrazer

12 lakh seven-seaters

Hyundai is in news for testing a seven-seater MPV in India. We expect this MPV to be the Hyundai Stargazer that was recently spotted testing in Indonesia and South Korea. The MPV will be designed and developed especially for the Asian markets. The Hyundai Stargazer is expected to be equipped with ADAS, Hyundai SmartSense features, and a sunroof. This new Hyundai MPV will come powered by a slew of engine options. Transmission options will include a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic transmission. We also expect a DCT option to be on offer.
