We have seen quite a few spy shots of the face lifted Mahindra Quanto but for the first time we can see it with the all new AMT transmission.

AMT which stands for Automatic Manual Transmission allows manufacturers use inexpensive automatic transmissions in their existing model lineup. Mahindra like most of the other manufacturers as well have been busy using this technology to add automatic variants in their current models.

Mahindra will launch the Quanto facelift early next year with a revised exterior design, upgraded mechanicals and improved build quality.

While the basic shape will be similar to that of the old car, but the heavy camouflage suggests that the Quanto facelift will get some major cosmetic upgrades for 2016. The MPV will come with revised headlamps with DRLs, KUV100-like front grille as well as new alloy wheels for the top-end trim.

Inside, the cabin will get revamped beige upholstery, new steering wheel design and a touchscreen infotainment system.

Powering the Quanto facelift will be a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder mHAWK 80 turbocharged diesel engine. Developing around 85bhp and 230Nm, the engine currently powers the TUV300. As for gearbox options, a 5-speed manual will be offered as standard while the added convenience of an AMT gearbox will be available as option.
