Just like Xerox has become a synonym for photocopy, Activa has become a synonym for gearless scooters in India. The Honda Activa has been India’s most preferred choice when it comes to buying a gearless scooter. The scooter has been around for quite some time and we have seen six generations of this scooter since it was first launched in India. In this article, we will discuss five things that we need in the Honda Activa 7G.
The design of the Honda Acitva has always been simple and descent at the same time the scooter is very practical for daily use. The Honda Activa 7G is also expected to get a similar design language that sticks to its roots. The rider’s position will be just perfect for city riding as well as some long-distance commute. The fuel lid will be placed externally just like the Honda Activa 6G so that the rider does not have to un-mount from the scooter.
In terms of features, the Honda Activa 7G is expected to get a fully digital instrument console. Currently, the Activa 6G gets an analog instrument console which seems a bit outdated while other scooters competing against the Activa offer a fully digital instrument console. Bluetooth connectivity will also be added to the list of features in the seventh generation of Honda Activa.
Yamaha is the only brand that is offering hybrid engine technology in their scooters. The Yamaha Fascino 125 and Ray ZR 125 are offered with a hybrid technology that offers an idle start-stop and Smart Motor Generator system adding to its fuel efficiency. We expect a similar hybrid engine to be offered by Honda in the Activa 7G. Currently, the Honda Activa 6G gets a 110cc engine that produces 7.68bhp and 8.84Nm of torque.
Improved Storage Space
The under-seat storage offered by Activa is decent at 18-litre. While other competing scooters like Suzuki Access and Yamaha Fascino offer 21.8-litre and 21-litre storage respectively. We expect Honda to improve under-seat storage space for Activa 7G and increase it to 22-litre. We also hope as the scooter becomes bigger so does the fuel capacity too.
The Honda Activa 6G gets a 12-inch tubeless tyre in the front and a 10-inch tubeless tyre at the rear. We expect Honda to offer bigger tyres on the Activa 7G. Offering bigger and wider tyres will improve the ride and handling quality of this scooter.
