The electric revolution is here and is knocking at your door. Most carmakers have started shifting their focus towards electric products. This is the case with manufacturers focused in the affordable segment as well as manufacturers focused in the premium/luxury segments. With multiple brands present in the electric space, we will soon get to see a slew of EV launches that you should be excited about. If you have been planning to buy an EV, you should wait for these upcoming premium electric cars.

Ford Mustang Mach E

Upcoming premium electric cars

Ford Mustang Mach E along with being the brand’s first all-electric product also was the first SUV from the Mustang stable. The SUV, soon after its launch in foreign markets, took a high spot in the popularity charts. Although Ford does not have any products in the Indian market as of now, the brand had been planning to bring the Mustang Mach E to India via the CBU route along with some other products.

Bringing the Mustang Mach E to India will help Ford re-establish its game in the Indian market and that too in the EV segment. When launched, this SUV will take on the likes of Mercedes Benz EQC, Jaguar I-Pace, BMW iX and Audi e-tron. As far as launch details are concerned, no official information has been provided by the brand. With that being said, we can still expect to see this car sometime next year.

Hyundai expanded its presence in the electric space with the Ioniq 5, its first all-electric SUV under the Ioniq brand. This SUV will be a premium offering in the market. This SUV is offered with two powertrain options, a single-motor variant that powers the rear wheels and produces 169bhp & 350Nm of torque. The one is the dual-motor variant that powers all wheels and produces 306bhp & 605Nm of torque.

To help reduce the range anxiety for buyers, it will also be offered two battery pack options, a 58kWh pack & a 72.6kWh pack. The former is capable of offering a maximum range of 385km (WLTP cycle) and the latter, 481km (WLTP cycle).
