Mahindra Scorpio spotted with a normal sunroof

Mahindra is known for its butch and rugged SUV lineup. The Scorpio has been especially popular in both urban and rural areas. But Mahindra is working on giving the Scorpio a generation update to make it an even better package. Mahindra is currently testing the new Scorpio in various parts of the country. We have received a video of the Scorpio in testing sent to us by one of our readers Aaryan Patel. In today’s article, we will see the sunroof of the Mahindra Scorpio. 

What was spotted?

The video seems to be shot in the mountainous regions of the north, considering the backdrop and snow. It is easy to figure out this is the Scorpio due to the grille and overall silhouette. Mahindra might be doing a high altitude test on the Scorpio. The big highlight of the video is that we can see a normal sunroof on the Mahindra Scorpio. Earlier it was speculated that the Scorpio will get a panoramic sunroof like the XUV700. This video confirms that will be not the case. Another thing to note is that the DRLs are placed near the fog lamps.

Expected specifications

The new generation Scorpio will be offered in both petrol and diesel engine options. It is expected to come with a 2.0-litre petrol engine that powers the Thar. The diesel engine is expected to be a 2.2-litre mHawk unit that powers the base variant of the XUV700. Both the engines are expected to come with manual and automatic gearbox options.

Expected features

Mahindra is expected to load the Scorpio with features as it did with the XUV700. It is expected to get a big infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, connected car tech, 3rd-row AC vents and charging ports, 4×4 drivetrain and cruise control.
