2022 Honda plans for India- What could come?
Honda is going through a lull phase in its sales numbers. It is surviving only on the sales of the City and Amaze. Traditionally, Honda has been famous for its sedans, but the rise of SUVs has caught the brand off-guard. They are now working on some new products to launch in the international market as well as the Indian market. In today’s article, we will take a look at Honda’s 2022 plan for India.
Honda City Hybrid
The Honda City is the brand’s best selling car in India. Honda is working on bringing the hybrid version of the City to India. It will make it one of the most fuel-efficient cars in this segment. This hybrid version of the Honda City will be based on the Honda e:HEV hybrid technology. This will be a proper hybrid system and not a mild-hybrid setup. The hybrid Honda City will continue to be powered by the 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated engine but will get a performance boost. The City hybrid is expected to deliver a mileage of 27-30kmpl.
C-segment SUV
The C-segment SUV segment is quite popular in India. Honda is working on bringing a product in this segment as well. This SUV will be based on City and will get City’s engine options. It is also expected to come with Honda’s e:HEV hybrid technology. This car can get a design similar to the SUV RS concept unveiled by Honda at the GIIAS 2021. This SUV is also expected to offer great fuel efficiency due to the hybrid setup.
2022 Honda plans – 7-seater MPV
Last year, Honda launched the new-generation BR-V in Indonesia. Considering how popular the seven-seater market in India is, it can be a good product for our market. This new-generation BR-V gets a bold design with a lot of chrome. It also comes loaded with ADAS, a sunroof, automatic climate control and all other such features which can help it attract customers in India.
