Toyota Hilux variants breakdown and special editions

The pickup segment is quite a niche segment in India. But outside India, such pickups are quite popular due to their versatile nature. In India, we currently only have the Isuzu D-Max pickup. But this is soon going to change with the entry of the Toyota Hilux. The Hilux is quite a popular pickup outside India and so its entry in India is expected to boost the pickup segment. Toyota has still kept the details of the Hilux a mystery. But we can expect its variants by looking at the international markets. In today’s article, we will see Toyota Hilux expected variants.

Toyota Hilux expected variants

Currently, the Hilux is in its eighth generation globally. Toyota generally sells around four to five variants of the Hilux in the international market. We expect Toyota to do the same in India. The variant listing is expected to be similar to the Innova with a G, GX, VX & ZX. The base G variant will be inclined to more commercial use and will be bare bones. All the variants are expected to come with a 4×2 and a 4×4 drive option. The top variant will offer that rugged feel with a snorkel and blacked wheel arches and grille. Another thing to see will be if Toyota provides it with a single cabin or a crew cabin.

Special editions

International Toyota launches a lot of special editions of the Hilux. It has special editions like the GR Sport, D-4D, Rogue, Revo, Revo Rocco and Invincible. We don’t expect Toyota to bring these special editions at launch. But they can be expected if the Hilux sells in good numbers. These special editions offer cosmetic changes over the normal Hilux. Also, Toyota offers a lot of special accessions for the Hilux like an alloy bullbar, aero racks, seat covers and snorkels.
