Heartect Platform

This time the Alto will be based on Maruti’s Heartect platform. This will significantly improve the safety of the car. This time around Maruti Suzuki will also be adding more high tensile steel. Structurally the car should also have a design that can take more load bearing in the event of a crash. Maruti will be determeined to have this car perform well at the GNCAP testing.
Convenience and safety features
The new generation Maruti Suzuki Alto is expected to get features like steering mounted controls, and connected car technology. The steering mounted controls will indirectly prevent drivers from getting distracted from controlling the touchscreen while driving. The connected car technology will offer features like geofencing, live vehicle tracking, driving statistics, roadside assistance. This is currently offered in the S-Presso, Wagon R, Swift, Dzire, Vitara Brezza, and Ertiga.
In terms of safety, the 2022 Maruti Alto is expected to get features like ABS, EBD standard. It will also get two airbags from the base variant. The Alto will get speed sensing locks, high speed warning alert, rear wiper and fog lamps. The Alto should also get DRLs with its redesign.
AMT Gearbox
Automatic gearboxes are gaining popularity in India. This is a great option for many first-time drivers. But sadly the Maruti Alto gets only a five-speed manual gearbox. Maruti has recently launched the Celerio with AGS (Auto Gear Shift). We expect the new generation Alto to get the same technology. The addition of an AMT or AGS gearbox will boost the sales of the new generation Alto.
Dimensions
With the 2022 Maruti Suzuki alto coming to India the dimensions of the car are expected to change. The car is expected to be a bit longer and wider which will add more cabin space. The new generation Maruti Suzuki Alto will carry some design elements from its previous generation for recall value.
